Code Lover – Winter School Holiday Program For students in Years 6 to 9 with basic coding knowledge and a passion for technology This program is ideal for students who have a basic background in coding and a strong interest in technology. But it’s not just about coding—we keep things active and hands-on too! Program Overview: Join our 2025 July School Holiday Program at UWA for an exciting and educational 2-day experience designed for tech-savvy students eager to explore the worlds of JavaScript and Python programming. In collaboration with Squadrone, this program offers a unique opportunity to dive into coding, robotics, and drone technology, combining creativity, innovation, and real-world application. What They’ll Do and Learn: -JavaScript Programming with Sphero BOLT: Students will learn the fundamentals of JavaScript programming by designing an interactive map-based mission. They'll program Sphero BOLT robots to navigate themed zones, complete challenges, and use sensors to interact with their environment in creative ways. -Drone Flying & Python Programming: Participants will gain hands-on experience flying Tello drones while developing skills in Python programming. They’ll learn to control the drone, perform advanced maneuvers, and design custom flight missions using asynchrono Learning Outcomes: 1. Programming Skills: Enhance coding abilities with practical applications in both JavaScript and Python. 2. Problem-Solving: Develop strategies for navigating complex environments and overcoming technical challenges. 3. Event Planning & Mission Execution: Learn how to plan and execute interactive experiences and drone missions. 4. Collaboration: Foster teamwork and communication by working on creative and technical projects with peers. 5. Innovation & Creativity: Encourage out-of-the-box thinking by integrating cutting-edge technology in fun and engaging ways. Event Dates:16th & 17th July 2025 (Wed & Thur) Time: 9:00 AM - 3:30 Location: The Refectory Building (next to Oak Lawn), UWA (Venue details and instruction will be sent to parents before program starts) Cost: $275 per participant (2 days, includes teaching materials) Age Group: Year 6 to Year 9 students (Note: This program is ideal for students with a basic background in coding and an interest in technology.)
